Swindon St George's wheelchair rugby league team is gearing up for its first full season of league action.

The club has confirmed its participation in the WRL Wheelchair Invitation League, where it will face teams including Cardiff Blue Dragons, North Wales Crusaders, and Torfaen Tigers.

The team's matches will be hosted at the New College venue.

Head coach, Tony Ellis, said: "A full fixture list will be released shortly, but, for now, the hard work escalates as we pump up preparations, particularly in recruitment of players, helpers and sponsors."

Ellis highlighted the inclusivity of wheelchair rugby league, welcoming men and women, boys and girls of all ages, experience, and abilities, whether they are actual wheelchair users or not.

The club is keen to recruit more players and sponsors, and is encouraging anyone interested to get in touch.

The rules of wheelchair rugby league closely follow those of the running game, using a proper rugby ball with no forward passes allowed.

As the club looks forward to its inaugural season, it is also seeking volunteers to help support the team.

Additional details will be announced soon, and anyone interested in joining the club is encouraged to reach out via email at swindonstgeorgerl@outlook.com.
