T20 World Cup 2021 leading wicket takers: Top bowler final standings - Wanindu Hasaranga finishes on top
Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga claimed the honour of being the 2021 T20 World Cup’s top wicket taker.
Three-wicket hauls against England, South Africa and the Netherlands earned the all-rounder an impressive total of 16 wickets to oust the impressive Australia pair of Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood.
It was Zampa who secured second in the standings ahead of fellow finalist Trent Boult, of New Zealand, each on 13 wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan led through the early stages of the tournament before injury struck during the Super 12s. Mitchell Starc led a host of bowlers who finished up on nine wickets apiece.
