HEREFORD Pegasus Ladies were unable to build on an excellent draw against high-flying Halesowen Town as they succumbed to a 6-0 reverse at the hands of unbeaten Redditch Borough in the West Midlands Women's Regional League First Division (South) at the KGD Stadium on Sunday.

Playing into a strong wind during the opening 45 minutes, Pegasus conceded the opening goal when Esther Lau-McKaay forced the ball home from close-range following a seventh minute corner for the visitors.

Redditch Borough doubled their advantage after 25 minutes when Millie Connolly-Heath pounced on a mistake by the Pegasus defence.

The visitors then made it 3-0 when a low cross from the left was palmed to Grace Murphy to sweep the loose ball into the net.

Sam Baker had the best opportunity for Pegasus in the opening half when firing narrowly wide of the target in the 33rd minute courtesy of her half-volley from the edge of the penalty area.

Pegasus were able to keep their Worcestershire opponents at bay during the early stages of the second-half as they benefitted from the strong wind blowing across the pitch.

The visitors ensured there was going to be no opportunity of a comeback from Pegasus with two goals in the space of as many minutes.

Connolly-Smith netted her second of the afternoon with a low shot from 15 yards before Borough broke quickly down the right flank after the restart and Maisie McDonnell was on hand to convert the ensuing cross into the penalty area.

The scoring was completed in the 82nd minute after Layla Hart beat Wood from close-range with a shot on the turn to make it a round half-dozen for Borough.
