Six youngsters from a climbing gym in Blackburn have been selected in national and regional GB development squads.

The talented climbers practice at Onyx Climbing Wall in Hill Street, which has been going for around a year.

Proud coach Gill Peet said her team competes in competitions all over the country and their selection for these squads is largely based on their results in those competitions.

William Bentley, Entley Gordon, and Gabrielle Bodo, all 11, and Jacob Bourke, 12, were selected for the regional team.

Lily Kettle, 12, and Emily Chan, 15, were selected for the GB national squad for their age groups.

Gill said they will all have their training monitored and those selected for the regional squad may get pushed to the national team, and those already there could compete internationally.

The Onyx Climbing Wall is a bouldering wall located next to the Tesco store on Hill Street.
