Talented Liverpool forward joins Leeds United's promotion rivals after contract announcement
Leeds United's promotion rivals Sunderland have snapped up Jayden Danns on loan from Liverpool after the youngster penned a new long-term deal with the Reds.
The promising forward, who recently made his first-team debut and Champions League bow for Liverpool against PSV Eindhoven, is set to join the Black Cats post-recovery from a back injury that was spotted during his medical.
Speaking about the move, Danns expressed his gratitude on Sunderland's official website: "This is my first loan move and a chance to prove myself, so I’m very appreciative of the opportunity and I’m grateful to the club for placing their faith in me."

He added: "I’ve done my research and the team is incredible, so this feels like the right step."
Despite the setback of his injury, Danns remains optimistic, saying: "I’m disappointed that I will be unable to do that straight away, but I’m proud to have joined the club and I will work hard throughout this period to ensure I can return to action and play my part."
Liverpool confirmed the loan deal alongside the announcement of Danns' contract renewal, stating on their official website: "Jayden Danns has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool and will join Sunderland on loan until the end of the season."
The Black Cats maintained their promotion push, coming-from-behind to beat arch rivals Middlesbrough 3-2 last night. Sunderland are fourth in the table, five points shy of the Whites. The two clubs will go head-to-head at Elland Road on Monday, February 17.
