TalkSPORT presenter storms off live on air following prank call from former Liverpool star
Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant made sure to rub salt in the wounds of Tottenham Hotspur old boy Jamie O’Hara after the Reds thrashed Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night. Arne Slot’s side ran out 4-0 winners at Anfield to book their place in next month’s League Cup final at Spurs’ expense.
Following the demolition job, Tottenham fan O’Hara had to host The Sports Bar on talkSPORT with Jason Cundy. And during the live show they took a call from ‘Jay the Liverpool fan’. But it soon became clear that all was not as it seemed.
With ‘Jay’ mercilessly mocking O’Hara, the former Tottenham midfielder quickly worked out that it was Pennant on the other end of the phone.

And following a lengthy ribbing from Pennant, which included him mimicking Cundy's 'Haaas anyone seen...' speech and singing both the Mohamed Salah chant and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, further teasing from Cundy actually prompted O’Hara to playfully remove his headphones and walk out of the studio off mid-show.
“Hello, yeah, can you hear me? Brilliant. Haaas anyone seeeeeeen Jamie O’Hara?” Pennant started. “Has anyone seen Postecoglou? George Graham? David Ginola?
By this point, O’Hara had already clocked the identity of the caller. “It’s Pennant, innit?” he said to Cundy.
“Haaas anyone seeeeeeen Gareth Bale?” Pennant continued. “Because you boys took one hellllllllllll of a beating! Mo Salah, Mo Salah, running down the wing.”
“Are you done, Jama? Are you done?” O’Hara laughed.
“Mo Salah, our Egyptian King. Mo Salah,” Pennant continued. “You’ll Never Walk Alone! Walk on, walk on with hope…
“Jamie, enjoy your weekend and have another 30 years of ze-ro trophies! How do you feel?
“Jama, come on mate,” O’Hara replied. “Listen, I can take it from Gabby (Agbonalor) and all that, mate, but I ain’t taking it from you! That’s for sure. Honestly, I’m not taking it from you.
“You’ve got to take it, mate,” Pennant laughed. “You’ve got to take the rough with the smooth.
“Next time Cundy has a day off, yeah, and you want to come on, I’m going to get Darren Ambrose on!” O’Hara snapped. Alright? You can do one!”
“Love it boys, love it!” Pennant laughed, clearly enjoying the lengths he had gone to to successfully wind up O’Hara.
“Obviously you watched the game. But how bad were Spurs?” O’Hara then asked Pennant.
“Yeah, they’re stinkin’, yeah!” he revelled. “On every single level. Every way you look at it, they absolutely reeked the place out.
“Like phwoar, from the minute go. From the minute go, I was thinking we are not losing this game in any way shape or form.”
Following further ribbing from both Pennant and Cundy, O’Hara warned the former Liverpool man he would get him back.
“You know what, the pair of you can do one,” he said. “Right, Jama, listen me, I’m going to message you in the break time because you’ve got something coming your way!”
“Have a good show boys! Speak to you later!” Pennant laughed before hanging up.
Cundy would then take aim at Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, by which point O’Hara had had enough as he smashed his headphones down on the desk and walked out the studio mid-show.
