Who is Tammer Bany? Lowdown on West Brom transfer target wanted by Celtic
West Bromwich Albion have identified Danish forward Tammer Bany as the clocks tick towards the January transfer window deadline. Albion are set to bid farewell to goalkeeper Alex Palmer before the window closes, having agreed a fee with Ipswich Town in the region of £5m for his services.
Albion intend to recall Josh Griffiths from his loan spell at Bristol Rovers, but it was always the intention of the club to add another attack minded individual; having brought in Isaac Price and Will Lankshear, they are set to seal the signing of Randers forward Bany for a fee in the region of £3.3m - a deal they've been able to do having ended the loan of Uros Racic.
Bany, 21, is set for a medical ahead of the 11pm deadline and will become Tony Mowbray's third signing of the window since his return to the club last month. His existing contract with Randers had two and a half years to run on it having only joined last year from Boldklubben, but Albion have moved to strike a deal with the Danish outfit.

Bany has 32 goal contributions in 104 career appearances, having spent the entirety of his career to date in his native Denmark. He cost Randers around £135,000 when they signed him 12 months ago, and they're set to receive what will be a club record fee from the Baggies having impressed in the year he has spent at the Randers Stadium.
Bany has been the interest of a host of clubs from around the world including Scottish champions Celtic, who have previously looked to replace the outgoing Kyogo Furuhashi, Nantes, OH Leuven, Al Ahli from Egypt and Rakow Czestochowa. Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise saw a £1.1m bid knocked back at the start of the month.
Randers sporting director Soren Pedersen said during this Danish Superliga winter break: "The plan is that Rasmus (Bertelsen, manager) will also have him available when we start up again. but it is clear that he is one of those who has been very active around, and there are still clubs that are interested. So, I would not say that I am 100 percent sure that he will be here when the window closes. The ambition is that he will stay."
