Tartan Army diehards face scramble for tickets as Greece hand over just 1,600 for Nations League clash
Scotland fans face a battle for tickets for the Nations League play-off against Greece, after the Tartan Army were allocated just 1,600 tickets.
Steve Clarke’s side take on the Greeks in the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium on 20th March. The Hellenic Football Federation have confirmed the Dark Blues' tiny allocation in the last 24 hours, despite the Pireas ground having a capacity of 33,079. And the limited allocation is now expected to spark a ticket scramble.
Scotland return for the second leg at Hampden three days later. Clarke’s squad know that they need to secure a victory over the two legs to remain in Group A of the Nations League. The national team had looked destined for the drop before a late rally in their group kept them afloat and left them with this play-off to safeguard their current status. Scotland will be no stranger to Greece by the end of the year because there are also home and away fixtures in the World Cup qualifiers, in October and November.

Tickets are priced at just £17 and £4 for wheelchair users with companions, with thousands of members of the Tartan Army expected to make the trip to Greece for the tie. It'll be the first meeting of the sides since 1995, when Ally McCoist got the only goal of the game in a 1-0 success at Hampden.
The Greeks had inflicted a 1-0 defeat on the national teamion their only previous match as hosts a year earlier, also in a Euro 96 qualifier.
