Teenage forward set to reject Aston Villa despite 'concrete' contract offer
Aston Villa could have missed out on Caen attacker Tidiam Gomis, according to reports in Germany.
Sky Sports Germany say that among the 18-year-old’s many suitors it is RB Leipzig who are ‘very confident’ on sealing a free transfer in summer – or potentially even in the current window.
They say Leipzig, AC Milan and Villa submitted ‘concrete’ long-term contracts to one of the most sought-after youngsters in Ligue 2.

It emerged last week that Villa were in advanced talks with Caen, with the teenager out of contract at the end of the campaign. Gomis has scored two goals and provided two assists in Ligue 2 across 19 appearances and is very much viewed as a player with potential rather than as one for immediate first team duty.
The news comes after L'Equipe said Villa’s hierarchy are keen on the youth market in France and have shown increased interest in recent weeks.
Gomis almost moved to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2023, agreeing personal terms only for Caen to knock back all offers. However, it seems he is likely to move in either the short or medium-term.
