Terras play at out New Year's Day stalemate
SALISBURY 0
WEYMOUTH 0
THE points were shared at the Ray Mac Stadium on New Year's Day as Weymouth battled it out with Salisbury in the National League South.
With the rain and wind making it difficult conditions to play in, both sides had chances to take all three points in what was a scrappy but entertaining affair in Wiltshire.
The result means Feeney remains undefeated since taking charge of the Terras with his side has keeping two clean sheets and three draws.
The result means Weymouth move off the bottom on goal difference and one point closer to safety after Welling United lost 1-0 to Maidstone United.
Feeney named an unchanged side from the 2-2 draw with Torquay on Boxing Day with Calvin Brooks and Tom Bearwish still out through injury.
Weymouth got off to bright start as chances fell to Brandon Goodship and Jake McCarthy but neither was able to steer the effort on target.
The first real chance of the game then fell to Linton after he was played through by Goodship but the Terras number nine was denied by Lincoln in the Salisbury goal.
The hosts started to grow into the game and had more of the ball with the Wiltshire side creating several chances of their own.
Noah Coppin picked up the ball on the wing and found Ronan Silva but the Salisbury man's effort was well saved by Buse.
As the half was drawing to a close Coppin cut in off the left wing and fired in a right-footed shot but sent his effort over the bar.
Much like the first half, it was Weymouth who carved out the first chance, and it was McCarthy who tried his luck from distance but it was never troubling Lincoln.
After being camped in their own half for much of the opening ten minutes of the second period, Salisbury had a chance of their own.
Jordan Ragguette beat Corey Jordan and whipped in a brilliant cross into the six yard box but no one was able to turn the ball home.
With just under 20 minutes to go Watts unleashed a volley from the edge of the box but Buse was again on hand to deny the home side.
Then with eight minutes left, Weymouth almost snatched a winner as Hamblin sent in an early cross but substitutes Brooklyn Genesini and Pollock were unable to make contact with the ball and the chance went begging.
Next up for Weymouth is Boreham Wood in the FA Trophy at the Bob Lucas on Saturday, January 4
