WEYMOUTH have announced the signing of Diamond Edwards from Port Vale.

The 21-year-old midfielder has joined on loan from the League Two side ahead of the Terras 2-0 defeat to Hampton & Richmond.

He joined Vale in the summer of 2024 having previously been at Premier League club Southampton.

The Englishman has played once for Vale in League Two this season and made three appearances in the EFL Trophy, scoring once.

Edwards joined Southampton from Reading in 2019 and signed his first professional contract in December 2020.

He was also a part of the Under-18s Premier League South title-winning team of the 2021–22 season and featured for Saints the EFL Cup in the 2022/23 season.

Edwards has also been capped at youth level for England.

In a statement released on the club's social media channel, the club welcomed their new signing to Dorset.

A club spokesperson said: "We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Diamond Edwards from Port Vale.

"The skilful and quick 21 year old midfielder joins us from the League Two side, who has both caps in the EFL and League Cup whilst boasting experience at Southampton too."
