Texas Scramble held at Taunton & Pickeridge

The Ladies at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club took advantage of the weather on Tuesday morning to play a Texas Scramble at the end of which it was Jackie Pike, Heather Crump, Rosie Spragg and Louise Worth who were the winners with 61, writes Richard Walsh.

Second place on 62 was claimed by Jan Olive, Emma Smith, Shirley Portis and Karen Thomas, while third place went to Katie Guest, Lennox Heath, Lyn Gridley and Hilary Parker with 63.

On Sunday 2nd February 11 member of the Juniors  Section took to the course to play a 12 hole Texas Scramble.

It was an extremely close competition with the winning team coming in one under par with a fantastic 56 shots. Well done Ben, Seb, Cooper and Xander and well played everyone else.

Following on from the successful away day last month T&P PGA Professionals Jason Avery and Ali Williams are running a second Pro's Away Day before the golfing season begins in April.

The event is being held at Oake Manor Golf Club on Thursday, March 27, and includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf and prizes. It will be a team event competition, and the cost will be held the same at £45 per person. Limited spaces available so please book your spot with the Pro Shop team.

In October Jason has arranged a trip to Lisbon for a fantastic golf holiday playing some wonderful courses, staying in a great hotel and improving your golf!  Competitions will be running throughout week while enjoying the superb food and drink. Spaces are filling up fast so anyone interested should contact the T&P pro as soon as possible.
