Thomas Frank blown away by Liverpool man as behind-the-scenes footage from Brentford emerges
Liverpool’s victory over Brentford has been seen in a new light courtesy of video footage of Thomas Frank’s post-match analysis meeting being published. The Reds ran out 2-0 winners at the Gtech Community Stadium, but despite recording 37 shots had to rely on a stoppage-time brace from Darwin Nunez to clinch the victory.
Arne Slot’s men currently sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table, having lost just once all season. And the Bees boss and his backroom team were left in awe at Liverpool’s performance after watching back the game.
Sky Sports have recently spent the day with Frank for an ‘A day in the life of’ feature with the Brentford boss. And the cameras were in attendance for their post-match analysis meeting.

“I actually had the feeling that we limited them to very little,” first team analyst Joe Newton, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan, says when presenting clips from the match to Frank and his coaches. “That was my feeling.
“We had, obviously, key men to take out. I think Salah had three of those 37 shots. So, if you, you said it before the game, take him out, 70/80%.”
“Him and Trent,” Frank replied. “And we were so close to taking Trent out as well. Boom, then we limit them.
“My feeling after and also after we looked at the game back, we defended so well. Like so well. And I think it would have been a fair point.
“Of course, you could say if there should have been a winner, it should have been Liverpool because of the amount of shots and all that.
“But there’s also, I think, even Slot acknowledged that after the game as well, that probably was, I don’t know, Did you get the number of the offensive situations?”
“I had like, 13, 14,” Newton replied.
“13/14, and how many of them were shots?” Frank asked, “Five, maybe six? Maybe less?
“Yeah, if we’re lucky.”
“So let’s say 13, 14 dangerous attacks,” Frank continued. “How many?
First team assistant coach Justin Cochrane interjected: “We had 14. That’s high.
“14, yeah, that’s high,” Frank replied. “So we had 13/14 dangerous attacks where there’s maybe not an outcome, because their centre-backs on the day, wow, what a level!
“They are good. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen them that good.”
Newton was in agreement as he singled out Ibrahima Konate, saying: “Obviously we know Van Dijk and we know Konate’s good but I thought he was phenomenal on the day.”
Frank continued: “I think at least the positive narrative must be that they, you know, respect us and they had to be absolutely on it.
“And they knew that the threat from Bryan (Mbeumo) and (Yoane) Wissa, Dams (Mikkel Damsgaard) and Kevin (Schade).
Cochrane added: “We score in any other game. Any other team we play this season, we score one of our dangerous attacks.”
