Brentford boss Thomas Frank concedes "quite comfortable" Liverpool are favourites to win the Premier League title but refuses to rule out an upset at the Gtech Community Stadium today The Bees host another difficult opponent in the league leaders this afternoon after salvaging a dramatic draw with Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Liverpool enter the contest four points clear of second-placed Arsenal and with a game in hand but Frank feels 11th-placed Brentford have it in them to deal their table-topping opponents a blow.

"Being favourites is not saying that you are going to win it (the title)," said Frank. "I understand why Arne Slot is playing it down, saying game by game. We all would do the same.

"The only thing they can do is to do what they have done so far, which is beat the team in front of them, and then they hope it's enough at the end of the season, but this is the best league in the world, it's extremely tricky, but they are favourites."

Frank, who challenged his side to improve in their defensive transitions, faces no fresh injury concerns ahead of Liverpool's visit.

And fitness, posited the Danish boss, is one of the reasons today's opponents have found themselves top of the table.

Frank said: "I think Liverpool have done fantastic this season. I think they are the best-performing team, or have been the best-performing team this season. They are top of the league, quite comfortable.

"They are favourite to win the title, and also they have had a minimal amount of injuries. Of course they had a few, but maybe only one or two and they were never really hit by it.

"Of course, I haven't looked into everything, but as far as I can see they play more or less their top players week in, week out, which is a big thing, and they've done fantastic. They've played fantastic football.

"They have so many threats from so many angles, so it will be a tough test, but we know we back ourselves against any team. If we perform, we believe that we can win any game, and especially at Gtech."

Brentford were trailing 2-0 late on in the Man City encounter after conceding a brace to Phil Foden but Yoane Wissa halved the deficit in the 82nd minute before Christian Norgaard snatched an equaliser in stoppage time.

Frank felt the display was the first time he saw his men truly go toe-to-toe with a top team this season, and wants more of the same against Liverpool.

He added: "Of course we will try to do the same against Liverpool. It will be difficult. I think we need to be brave again on Saturday, but also be clever."
