Thomas Tuchel gives Marcus Rashford clear England role after loan move to Aston Villa
The new England boss is said to have wasted no time in reaching out to Marcus Rashford following his loan transfer to Aston Villa, eager for him to get more playing time to bolster his chances in the national team.
Thomas Tuchel is reported to have made a call with the 27-year-old to make his place in the England set-up clear after the forward was left out of the 2024 Euro squad - with ex-boss Gareth Southgate favouring the more in-from Eberechi Eze, Anthony Gordon and now teammate Ollie Watkins.
With Rashford hopefully playing more minutes under Unai Emery, it is hoped that he will regain his spot in the highly competitive squad with Tuchel known to be a fan of the currently out of favour forward.
A source is reported to have told The Sun, via Goal.com: "Tuchel told Marcus and his representatives he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad going forward."

Since bursting on the scene in 2016, Rashford became a regular in the squad already earning 60 caps and bagging 17 goals. The Man United academy graduate was also a crucial part of the 2022 World Cup Squad but has lacked regular minutes since then and as such has slowly drifted out of the squad.
When his relationship with Ruben Amorim soured it became clear that he would need to leave if he wanted regular minutes and to return to the national squad.
Since his move to Villa, the 27-year-old's reported work ethic at United appears to have been left behind. He's been attending additional training sessions and introducing himself to staff and coaches at Bodymoor Heath.
It remains uncertain when Rashford will make his debut, but he is eligible for selection for this weekend's FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
