I thought Newcastle found an ally after Arsenal put-down before eye-rolling twist
Finally, it seemed, Newcastle United fans had found an ally. Take it away Jamie Carragher.
"There's a lot of talk about [Alexander] Isak," the Liverpool legend said on the Overlap. "There's almost this feeling that Arsenal are going to sign him or need to sign him.
"Are you looking at that as an Arsenal fan and thinking that's realistic, that you can just go and buy Isak from Newcastle? He's got three years left on his contract."

However, that was not the end of the discussion. Far from it. Carragher suggested Isak would 'surely' pick former side Liverpool 'if he was to go' before fellow pundit Paul Scholes chipped in.
"I think he has to go to bigger and better [than Arsenal]," he added. "I think you're talking about Real Madrid here. Liverpool need a centre forward.
"I think Arsenal will be down the list as an option. I don't mean that in a bad way. He's at Newcastle, a brilliant team, but they're not going to win leagues and not going to probably win European Cups."
However, before you even get into the eye-watering financials, a number of ex-pros appear to have forgotten the fact that Isak has repeatedly said he is 'really happy' at Newcastle. The 25-year-old has described playing for the black-and-whites as a 'dream'. The striker has even called St James' Park 'home' and said it is 'extra special to be on the right side' as he looks to end the club's trophy drought and fire Newcastle back into the Champions League.
Yet the way pundits talk, it's as if it is a foregone conclusion that Isak is leaving this summer. No wonder the Sweden star recently said: "Sometimes you see things that make you laugh."
