Three new signings to play in Man City vs Chelsea as Enzo Maresca given £128m transfer headache
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City's three new signings could play against Chelsea. The Blues will lock horns with the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they both look to climb the table.
Chelsea enjoyed a 3-1 win over Wolves on Monday night to retain their place in the top-four. Then, on Wednesday evening, Manchester City blew a two goal lead, losing 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
While the West Londoners have had a couple of extra days on the training pitch to prepare for this weekend's heavyweight clash, Guardiola has three new players at his disposal. This month, Manchester City have forked out £128m on securing the signatures of Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov and Omar Marmoush.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Chelsea tie, the Spaniard was asked if the trio will be included in the matchday squad. He replied: "Yes. They can play, but I don’t know yet. We don’t have players."
On Marmoush, who had directly contributed towards 25 goals in 17 Bundesliga games before leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, Guardiola said: "[He brings] exceptional quality to the team. He’s a future player for years with quality in the final third. That’s why [we signed him]."
City have struggled to impress this season, so Guardiola will be hoping Reis, Khusanov and Marmoush can help turn their season around. The Spaniard also revealed that Jeremy Doku and Ruben Dias will miss the Chelsea game due to injury.
The duo have joined Nathan Ake and Rodri on the sidelines, while Oscar Bobb continues to rebuild his fitness. Guardiola said: "[We have the] same injuries, we had [before]. Ruben and Doku are out. The other players out are [still] out."
Speaking to reporters at Cobham, Maresca was asked if it's a good time to face City. The Chelsea boss said: "No. I don't believe in these kinds of things. It is probably on the other side; I think this kind of club with this kind of players, when they are in a difficult moment, it's when they want to show how good they are.
"They want to come against everyone and say: 'Okay, if you think we are not good enough, we are going to show you how good we are', so I don't think there is a good moment to play against City."
Then, on if Guardiola needs to be shown my support despite City's latest spending spree, Maresca said: "Pep is strong enough in this kind of thing but for sure, like any human being, he needs support in this moment.
"If you think about the last eight or nine years, except the last three or four months, they were top always, winning titles and important trophies. It is something normal."
