Derby County added 11 players to their squad this past summer in a busy window for head coach Paul Warne ahead of a return to the Championship following promotion success the season before.

But while there have been plenty of additions, there have been a few departures on loan too, with Tyrese Fornah sealing a move to Salford City.

Striker Tony Weston is also out on loan, this time with National League side Boston United, while Sonny Bradley sealed a departure to Wycombe Wanderers on Monday as he looks to help the Chairboys achieve promotion.

Tyrese Fornah

The former Nottingham Forest midfielder has hit the ground running since moving north after expressing a desire to leave the club in the summer. He has made 23 appearances so far and has become central to their promotion ambitions.

The fans have been impressed with him so far and you sense he will be a key man for the Ammies, who are owned by Manchester United legends Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs. Salford are currently third in the table and could be heading towards League One after excellent form of late.

Fornah hit the headlines in a 3-0 victory over Barrow on Boxing Day when he scored but was then sent off six minutes before time.

Speaking about the move, Fornah said: "I came back in the summer after training, looking after my soul, looking after my body, and just motivated to kind of be the best version of myself again, just playing free like I did when I was a kid.

"I just want to say a big congratulations to everybody at the club for getting this far," he said after the win over Harrogate on New Year's Day.

"The gaffer wants us to take it game by game and myself and the boys want to take each game as it comes. We won't get too high and we won't get too low. We will just keep going. Everyone works hard for each other and the level of quality speaks for itself.

"I think that's why we are able to do so well and be consistent which is the hardest thing to achieve in football. I have to enjoy myself. That's the most important thing - to be expressive, play free and to take risks.

"I am never going to play safe. I am going to play my game. That's why I came here - to enjoy it. Long may it continue."

Tony Weston

Derby have high hopes for the striker who finally bagged his first goal for the Pilgrims this season in an impressive 3-1 win at Gateshead.

That goal came after he had experienced some time on the sidelines due to a broken metatarsal in October and did return to Derby for treatment. But the club were eager for him to complete his loan deal and he made his return for the Boxing Day clash at home to Solihull Moors which the Pilgrims lost 1-0.

He has made 15 appearances so far for Boston this season but will hope that his goal against Gateshead in the FA Trophy can now kickstart him in the league given the Pilgrims currently sit in the relegation zone.

They will need a Herculean effort to get out of trouble too given they are eight points adrift of safety.
