TikTok star creates wrestling space for Govan community
DAVID McCallum, aka Ravie Davie, is rarely lost for words.
But even he was momentarily speechless when his name was announced as Sporting Champion of the Year at the Glasgow Community Champion Awards.
The event is organised by the Glasgow Times, and supported by our partners Glasgow City Council, Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust and St Enoch Centre.
David was crippled by self doubt while growing up after being constantly told he would not amount to anything.
Now the 29-year-old social media star has 140k followers on TikTok after creating two successful wrestling companies, Community Pro Wrestling and Glasgow School of Wrestling.
He has dedicated his time to helping young people in Govan find the opportunities they need to live their best lives.

“I took some wrong paths in my life,” he said. “But my family believed in me, when I didn’t believe in myself and now I absolutely believe 100 percent in all the kids who come to my wrestling school.
“I didn’t think I’d win tonight, because there were so many great finalists. It’s amazing.”
He added: “I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported me, everyone who voted for me, I really, really do appreciate it.”
