TITLE-winning forward Gary Price has been inducted into the York RLFC Hall of Fame.

The back-rower played 161 times for the club from 1979 to 1986, scoring 40 tries, two goals and one drop-goal and earning the heritage number 1161.

He was a part of the sides that won the Second Division title in 1980/81 and earned promotion to the Championship in 1984/85, as well as the team that reached the 1984 Challenge Cup semi-final but ultimately missed out on a first Wembley appearance since 1931 with a narrow loss to Wigan at Elland Road.

Price joins Darren Callaghan as a new Hall of Fame member for 2025, as chosen by a committee consisting of Knights Supporters’ Society (KSS) members, former players and journalists.

The pair will officially be inducted at the club’s Hall of Fame dinner at Merchant Adventurers’ Hall on Friday, January 17.

The York RLFC Hall of Fame was launched in 2013 by the KSS to celebrate the storied history of rugby league in York following the club’s formation in 1868.

There are currently 26 players inducted into the Hall of Fame, including Geoff Pryce, Graham Steadman and Willie Hargreaves.
