TOBY King is currently in his Testimonial year at Warrington Wolves – but could it also be his last year at the club?

Currently, he is putting his future to the back of his mind but with his contract in its final months, he admits there is currently “nothing on the table” in terms of an extension.

The centre came through the Warrington academy to make his Super League debut in 2014 and has been a Wire player ever since, save for 18 months out on loan at first Huddersfield Giants and then Wigan Warriors, with whom he won the 2023 Super League Grand Final.

During the latter loan spell, it appeared as though King’s time at the club was coming to an end but it was later confirmed he would return to Warrington for the remaining two seasons of his contract.

England international King says he is still enjoying life at The Halliwell Jones Stadium under head coach Sam Burgess but insists he is “open to anything,” with off-contract players now allowed to speak to rival clubs about deals for 2026 and beyond.

It's my Testimonial year and we've got a massive game against Leigh for the pre-season friendly so we'll probably just see how that goes.

“I know it's a bit earlier now with discussions and stuff but I'm really enjoying my time at the minute under Sam. We'll just have to see where it goes.

“I've played here since I was a 16-year-old boy. I've got a lot of mates here so it's massive, but sometimes you have to go wherever it takes you.

“The opportunity might not come for me to stay here now so I'm open to anything.

“It's really hard when you're in a contract year so you can only take it really one step at a time.

“Nothing's on the table yet so I'm just focused on having a really good start to the year because my goal is just to win games for Warrington.”
