Toby Booth breaks silence

Former Ospreys head coach Toby Booth has broken his silence following his exit from the Ospreys.

For the first time since leaving the club earlier this week, Booth has spoken out. The 54-year-old posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

Following Ospreys' last-gasp victory over Scarlets at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday evening, Booth took the opportunity to congratulate his former team and colleagues on their derby day success, and to address his exit.

"Happy Sunday everyone… In an interesting week I just wanted to congratulate Ospreys for their win yesterday in the WWD," he wrote online.

"Also to thank everyone for their kind words and support throughout my Ospreys journey. The only constant in life is change…and we all find a way! Diolch."

Booth parted ways with Ospreys on Tuesday, and former Scarlets and Wales wing Mark Jones has now taken over as head coach.

Wales star hits milestone

Wales centre Nick Tompkins made his 200th appearance for Saracens today against Northampton Saints.

Tompkins lined up alongside fellow Wales internationals Rhys Carre and Liam Williams as he celebrated hitting a double tonne. Speaking about his achievement, Tompkins explained how much it meant to him.

"So many people have helped me to reach 200 appearances for this great club and it is a real honour every time I pull on the shirt," said the 29-year-old.

"It has been great to have been able to play with so many great players during my time at Saracens. They certainly didn’t make it easy for more, but they taught me so much.

"There are too many people to thank, but this club is truly special and to be making my 200th appearance is something that means a huge amount to me."

Premiership boss takes dig at Bath and Finn Russell

Newcastle Falcons boss Steve Diamond has aimed a cheeky dig at Scotland fly-half Finn Russell after their loss to Bath.

Diamond questioned how the club employs so many top-class players within the salary cap, and was fully open and honest while chatting with Jamie Lyall. He also suggested that Russell was winning over the referee due to Bath's position in the table.

"The game was controlled eloquently by their number 10," explained Diamond. "Who talked his way through the game, and the referee listened to him. And that’s what happens when you’re a side at the top of the league, as opposed to a side at the bottom of the league.

"So, beaten by a better team on the night, they’re a good side, they’re a big pack of forwards, and their second pack of forwards, how they fit in the salary cap, goodness knows, they do a massive job behind the scenes.

"100 per cent, but that’s sport all over, isn’t it? If you’re top of the league, then you get the rub of the green.

"When you’re not top of the league, when you’re bumbling around the bottom like we are, then you have to do everything over and above to get those decisions."

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso doubt for Six Nations

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is a doubt for the Six Nations.

The Exeter Chiefs winger was forced from the field in Sale Sharks' win over the Devonshire club, causing real cause for concern for Steve Borthwick, with the England squad set to be named in just a few weeks.

Chiefs boss Rob Baxter has now revealed that Cardiff-born Feyi-Waboso has suffered a dislocated shoulder, but they do not know how long he could be out for.

"Initially, it looked like his shoulder popped out but it looked like it went back in pretty quickly," said Baxter.

"He’ll be having scans and an assessment as soon as we get back to Exeter. There was nothing untoward – he just landed awkwardly."

England's first game of the Six Nations is away to Ireland on Saturday, February 1.
