Here are your rugby evening headlines for Saturday, January 4.

In-form Welsh-qualified star impresses again

In-form Leicester No. 8 Olly Cracknell impressed once again as he crossed for a try against Exeter Chiefs.

The 30-year-old, who qualifies for both Wales and England, has been impressing for Leicester in recent weeks - with the back-row continuing his form with a well-taken try against Exeter in the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday.

Picking up from the base of a five-metre scrum, Cracknell powered through England international Henry Slade and a number of other would-be tacklers to score the game's first try.

The form of Cracknell could be timely, with Wales coach Warren Gatland returning to the UK ahead of the Six Nations.

It's understood that, having been back in New Zealand over Christmas, Gatland is returning to the UK this weekend as he prepares to name his squad in just over a week's time.

Aaron Wainwright and Taulupe Faletau are likely to be the No. 8s named, but the form of the former Ospreys man will give Gatland something to think about.

Feyi-Waboso facing Six Nations blow

England wing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is considering surgery on a dislocated shoulder that would rule him out of the Six Nations.

Mail Online report that the Welsh-born winger could face three months out if he opts for the surgery, having undergone another scan on the injury this week.

The 22-year-old injured his shoulder in action for Exeter before Christmas and is now reportedly facing a '50-50 call' between surgery and playing on after rehab.

England are keen on having the medical student available for the Six Nations, given how well he took to Test rugby last year after choosing England over Wales. Head coach Steve Borthwick, as part of the recent deal between England and the Premiership clubs, will have a say in discussions, but it's understood the decision will be left to Feyi-Waboso.

Gwalia swept aside by Irish opposition

Gwalia Lightning were swept aside by Clovers in their Celtic Challenge Clash at Kingspan Stadium.

The Welsh side found themselves 17-0 down at half-time in Belfast, after scores from Emily Lane, Alana McInerney and Hannah Clarke.

Gwalia were better in the second-half, with Molly Reardon crossing for a try.

However, a second try for Lane and a fifth score from replacement Sophie Barrett sealed a comfortable 29-7 win for the hosts.
