Tonight's Swansea City news as star urged to earn new deal and sporting director candidate 'has good reputation'
Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Thursday, December 12.
Williams urges Allen to earn new deal
Swansea City boss Luke Williams has challenged Joe Allen to prove he's worthy of a new deal at the club.
The veteran midfielder put pen to paper on a one-year extension last season, and there so far hasn't been any indication of a fresh deal for the 34-year-old.

However, Williams believes the Wales international still has plenty to offer at Championship level, and says the door isn't closed on a possible new contract.
The club are currently working on tying down defensive duo Harry Darling and Ben Cabango, both of whom also see their current deals run out at the end of the season.
"I think the situation is a bit different [to Darling and Cabango] because of Joe's age," Williams admitted.
"But I think for Joe if he performs very well, like he always does and he gets enough game time on the pitch, it's difficult to not consider him, in my opinion, because you watch him and he's not out of place one bit.
"He can hold his own, and still compete physically. His quality is still top. He's playing international football, so if he's playing football regularly and playing well, I think there'll always be interest in Joe, and I'll certainly be putting forward that case on his behalf."
Swans draw up sporting director shortlist as Jennings in frame
Luke Williams says Swansea City are still working their way through a shortlist as they search for a new sporting director.
The role has been vacant since the departure of Paul Watson back in October, and the club are hoping to appoint a replacement soon ahead of the second half of the season.
UAE Pro League technical director Gareth Jennings is believed to be among those in the frame for the role, having previously worked for FIFA, New Zealand, Bristol City, Leicester City and Stoke City.
Williams believes the Englishman to be a 'capable' candidate, but says the club are likely to still be looking at a number of possible options.
"I don't know so much, other than that he (Jennings) is someone who is very capable with a good reputation," Williams said.
"I think there's probably still a number of people on the shortlist. Whoever we decide is going to be the right person will be exactly that, I am sure.
"I am very confident it's going to be the right person to represent this club in the way it should be represented and I am excited for that."
Vic Gommersall dies
Former Swansea City player Vic Gomersall has died at the age of 82.
After spending the early part of his career at Manchester City, he joined Swansea in 1966, and would go on to make 219 appearances for the Swans over a five-year spell.
Gomersall returned to the club after hanging up his boots, and worked in the commercial department before becoming a popular part of Swansea's matchday hospitality team.
"A natural raconteur, with a generous spirit and a warm sense of humour, Gomersall was an absolute natural in such surroundings and continued to share his reminiscences up until the recent home game against Portsmouth despite battling cancer with the same bravery and determination that marked him out as a player," Swansea said in a statement.
"Vic will be greatly missed by all who had the fortune to know him, and our thoughts and condolences go out to his friends and family at this sad time."

Swansea freeze season ticket prices
Swansea City have announced they have frozen season ticket prices for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.
The club has released 'family-friendly ticket options', as well as reductions on previous family ticket options. They will also be increasing the age ranges on selected concessionary categories.
Under the new structure, an adult and child (Under 14) package will be available for just £350 per season in the South Stand, which is just over £15 per game combined. This is down from this season’s current offer of £420.
A standard adult season ticket will come in at £411, which would, as things stand, be the best value season ticket in the Championship.
Andy Coleman, Chairman of Swansea City, said: "We want to offer our supporters exceptional value both on the pitch, and off the pitch, and that is why we’ve decided to defy inflation and freeze season ticket prices.
"We’re also going one step further and introducing new family-friendly options to get the South Stand bouncing in the 2025-26 season. Our commitment to keeping football accessible and affordable remains, and we look forward to what we are sure will be another exciting season at the Swansea.com Stadium."
