Tonight's Swansea City transfer news as recalled star finds new club and Williams defended
Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Tuesday, January 7.
Abbey finds new club
Former Swansea City loanee Nelson Abbey has joined Portuguese side Rio Ave on loan until the end of the season.
The centre-back recently called time on his initial loan spell with the Swans, having made just one League Cup appearance since his arrival from Greek side Olympiakos in the summer.

He has now jetted back out to the continent, and took to social media to express his delight at the move.
Posting in his Instagram, Abbey said: "Absolutely delighted to be at Rio Ave for the remainder of the season.
"Grateful and I thank God for this opportunity, looking forward to getting back to doing what I enjoy the most. And growing with this team."
First pro deal
Promising youngster Thomas Woodward has put pen to paper on his first professional deal with Swansea City.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has signed on to the summer of 2026, with the club also holding the option of another 12 months on top of that.
Woodward first joined the club at under-nine level, and enjoyed a pretty impressive 2023-24 campaign, netting 30 goals in all competitions across all age groups.
He has since become a regular for the under-21s, and it's hoped a first professional deal will offer him the platform to kick on in his development.
Peart-Harris signs new contract
Brentford have triggered the option to extend Myles Peart-Harris' contract through to the end of next summer.
The attacking midfielder, who joined the Swans on loan from the Premier League outfit in the summer, has played 23 league games under Luke Williams, and has scored two goals.
His previous deal in west London was due to expire at the end of the season, but Brentford have now taken up the option to tie him down to the club for another 12 months.
OTJ defends Williams over West Brom comments
Former Swansea City midfielder Owain Tudur Jones says Luke Williams would have been 'silly' to publicly rule out a move to West Bromwich Albion.
However, Jones admits Williams could have perhaps better dealt with the speculation linking him to the job.
Rumours on social media claimed Williams was one of those being considered by the Baggies following the recent departure of Carlos Corberan, and he was even odds on with the bookies at one point.
Having failed to previously distance himself from the rumours, Williams admitted the speculation surrounding his future had been 'handled poorly' by himself.

However, Jones says he has some sympathy for Williams and his position.
"He didn't shut it down, but I think as a manager you'd be silly to, if I'm being completely honest," he told Radio Wales Breakfast.
"We've seen too many examples these days... I understand everybody wants loyalty and everybody wants this and that, but loyalty counts for nothing.
"As a manager you see it happen too many times the other way where you do stay and you show a little bit of loyalty, and two months down the road you've lost four in a row and you get sacked anyway.
"So I think they have to keep a door slightly ajar, just in case."
