Tony Mowbray shares 'pure' observation of Will Lankshear in West Brom training
Tony Mowbray likes what he sees in young striker Will Lankshear, who has made a positive first impression having walked through the doors of West Bromwich Albion's training ground at the beginning of this week. Albion have secured a loan deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Lankshear, who scored in the Europa League against Galatasaray earlier this season.
The 19-year-old joins Adam Armstrong in arriving at The Hawthorns to help the Baggies' cause at the front end of the pitch and will certainly seek to create competition for places with Daryl Dike and Josh Maja also eyeing returns in due course. Lankshear has limited experience of first-team football but is highly regarded by Spurs and is out to impress.
Albion and Mowbray, who has overseen three matches so far and has seen his new side lose two of those games, welcome Sheffield Wednesday to The Hawthorns on Saturday and Lankshear is in line to be involved in the squad for the first time - and it'll be on merit, too, as Mowbray explains.

"Lankshear is here as well," he said. "I have to say he looks pretty pure in his finishing, his ball contact, the way he puts the ball in the net looks pretty clean to me. Sometimes you'd say players are a bit scruffy in the box, off their studs, or heel and goes in.
"Lankshear looks clean in his finishing, when he wants to whack it with his left foot into the bottom corner it generally goes in the bottom corner. The options at the top end of the pitch look really good. The coaching staff and myself have to find the right balance for what team we play on any given day."
