Tosin Adarabioyo gives damning Chelsea verdict after Brighton as Premier League promise made
Tosin Adarabioyo has opened up on Chelsea's FA Cup defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Blues were gifted a fifth-minute advantage in the fourth-round tie at the Amex Stadium by a calamitous own goal from Seagulls goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. But Enzo Maresca's men were unable to capitalise on the fortunate early breakthrough as finishes from Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma earned Albion a 2-1 comeback victory.
Tosin, who started the game at centre-back, acknowledged Chelsea were punished for lapses in concentration. "We didn’t break them down and create good enough chances to secure the game and we got punished at the other end," the defender said.

Just seven minutes separated Chelsea's opening goal and Rutter's equaliser and Tosin was asked about the reason for conceding so soon after. "I see it as a lapse of concentration sometimes," he told the official Chelsea website.
"We just need to continue to push on and start the game well like we did today, then push that through for 90 minutes." Chelsea return to the Amex Stadium on Friday night in the Premier League and Tosin insists the players are determined to bounce back.
"Our main focus is now coming back here on Friday," he said. "We will analyse this game throughout tomorrow and throughout the week, and we will come back stronger on Friday."
Speaking about elimination from the FA Cup, Maresca said: “For sure, it’s a big shame for us. But if there is something positive it’s that now we can be focused on the Premier League and the (Europa) Conference League.
“Especially in the Premier League, hopefully we can continue our journey there; that has been very, very good until now and hopefully we can finish well.”
