Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou set for new job with imminent start date
The BBC and ITV are vying to secure Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou for their Euros coverage, according to reports.
ITV are leading the race to include the Australian in their punditry team, according to Mail Sport. Both broadcasters are believed to have missed out on former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who plans to attend the tournament as a fan in his home country during his well-deserved break from football.
Postecoglou, known for his deep understanding of the game, is a private individual off the pitch, and his insights could give one broadcaster an advantage over the other. An announcement regarding the line-ups is anticipated soon, possibly in the next few days.
In related news, Leicester City defender Conor Coady has been secured by BBC Radio 5 Live. The 31-year-old was part of both England squads for the last two major tournaments but did not play.
During the 2021 Euros, assistant manager Steve Holland praised Coady as the 'player of the tournament' for his positive influence on the England camp.
Postecoglou is currently in his native Australia with his Tottenham squad as they prepare for a post-season friendly against Newcastle United on Wednesday.

"It's not easy because we played Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon and the we virtually got on the plane to come straight out here so we've all lost Monday May 20th from our lives. We're here now and we'll have a bit of a run this afternoon and hopefully get them livening up a bit," he said on Tuesday.
"When you walk out tomorrow and there's 80,000 people cheering you on, everything else is irrelevant and I'm sure the boys are looking forward to it."
