Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou snaps back at reporter amid sack pressure after Everton defeat
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has given a frosty reception to a reporter following his side’s 3-2 away loss against goal-shy Everton.
Spurs found themselves 3-0 down on their final visit to Goodison Park at half-time. They had Antonin Kinsky to thank for keeping the score down.
The team did make the scoreline more respectful in the second half with two late goals, but it was another damaging defeat. The result and performance leaves Spurs in 15th in the Premier League table and cautiously looking over their shoulder, it also increases the pressure on Postecoglou, with some questions being asked over his future ahead of next weekend’s game against Leicester City.

In his post-match interview with the BBC, the reporter starts with the question: “Ange, familiar story. What are your assessment of that performance please?”
The Spurs boss then asks: “A familiar story?” with the reporter clarifying: “Well in terms of defeat.”
Postecoglou then bites back with: “Yeah, okay. Great way to start an interview.”
Before answering the question with: “Yeah, look it was a tough result for us. Obviously in the first half we struggled to get control of the game. I made some changes in the team that probably weren’t helpful in the end.
“I had players struggling to come to terms with it, unable to capitalise on it. The second half the players put in the right response. Credit to them but we obviously fell short.”
It’s not the first time he has snapped at a reporter this season following defeat. After the 6-2 defea against Liverpool, he took exception to a question around the injury situation with the response: “I’m just going to stop answering these questions. If people can’t see the obvious, I’m not going to point it out.”
