Tottenham confirm Kevin Danso signing as deal kickstarts busy end to window
Tottenham have completed the signing of Lens centre-half Kevin Danso on loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Spurs are expected to pay Lens £20.9million for the 26-year-old in the summer, with Danso, who will wear the No4 shirt, understood to have agreed a deal running to 2030.
Danso had agreed to join Wolves and was set for a medical with the Midlands club on Sunday but had his head turned by 11th-hour interest from Spurs, who ramped up their pursuit of a new defender after Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury against Elfsborg on Thursday.
There are fears that Dragusin could miss the majority of the remainder of the season, while Cristian Romero remains sidelined with a thigh complaint and Micky van de Ven has only just returned to action following an extended period on the sidelines with hamstring trouble.

Spurs agreed a deal with AC Milan for Fikayo Tomori, who was unsure about leaving the Italian club so late in the window, and have also held talks with Chelsea over a loan move for Axel Disasi.
Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs head coach, also wants a new forward before Monday's transfer deadline but a deal for Mathys Tel is off after the teenage forward indicated a preference for staying at Bayern Munich.
Born in Austria, Danso moved to England at the age of six and played in the youth ranks at Reading and MK Dons before joining German club Augsburg in 2014.
In summer 2019, he moved to Southampton on a season-long loan but managed just 10 appearances for Saints in over the course of a frustrating campaign back in England.
The Austria international also spent time on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf before moving to French club Lens in summer 2021, where he made 128 appearances for the club in all competitions.
He has 24 caps for Austria and played for his country at Euro 2024.
Provided international clearance and a work permit are sorted in time, as expected, he will be available to make his debut against Liverpool in next Thursday's Carabao Cup semi-final decider at Anfield. Spurs lead 1-0 from the first leg in north London last month.
