Ange Postecoglou has been forced into plenty of changes with his Tottenham Hotspur side to face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

On top of already having nine players unavailable to face Eddie Howe's in-form side due to injury or suspension, the Australian revealed on Friday that an illness bug had worked its way through the Spurs squad. The 59-year-old has lost goalkeeper Fraser Forster to the bug with Brandon Austin coming in for his Tottenham debut just a few days shy of his 26th birthday.

Postecoglou already has Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies, Richarlison and Mikey Moore on the absence list as well as Rodrigo Bentancur suspended. Djed Spence is at least back from his one-game suspension and starts at left-back.

Elsewhere in the team he has named Son Heung-min and Yves Bissouma on the bench and James Maddison among the subs again, even though Maddison is suspended in midweek for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool. Timo Werner starts on the left of the attack with Lucas Bergvall in the midfield alongside Pape Matar Sarr and Dejan Kulusevski, who captains the side.

Here's the Tottenham team Postecoglou has selected: Austin; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Sarr, Bergvall, Kulusevski; Johnson, Solanke, Werner. Subs: Whiteman, Reguilon, Dorrington, Hardy, Bissouma, Olusesi, Maddison, Son, Lankshear.
