Tottenham handed huge Guglielmo Vicario and Micky van de Ven injury boost ahead of Elfsborg
Ange Postecoglou has been handed a huge double injury boost ahead of Tottenham's Europa League tie at home to Elfsborg.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defender Micky van de Ven were both spotted in training on Wednesday as the squad prepare for the final league phase match of the season. Van de Ven has been out with a hamstring injury but made his return to the grass at the back end of last week. The Dutchman last featured for the Lilywhites against Chelsea on December 8.
Meanwhile, Vicario has not played since he injured his ankle during a 4-0 win over Manchester City on November 23. The 28-year-old underwent surgery after fracturing his right ankle but has now resumed training alongside fellow goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Antonin Kinsky.

Postecoglou will face the media on Wednesday afternoon and provide an update on how close the pair are to being available again. Yves Bissouma and Richarlison were also seen training with the squad at Hotspur Way, although there was no Djed Spence, James Maddison or Pape Matar Sarr. Cristian Romero, who was not present, was doing work in the gym, it is understood.
After Elfsborg Tottenham face Brentford on Sunday, before travelling to Liverpool next Thursday for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. Tottenham know a win against Elfsborg on Thursday night will secure their place in the Europa League round of 16. Three points would secure a top eight finish and that would mean the club do not play in Europe again until March.
Anything but victory, however, could mean Spurs finish outside the top eight. If this does happen, the club would play two extra games in February in the shape of the knock play-offs.
