Young Liverpool defender Luca Furnell-Gill has agreed a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Furnell-Gill has been allowed to leave by the Reds having struggled for game time with the under-18s this season.

The 18-year-old centre-back featured in only five games for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side, three of which were as a starter. He also came off the bench for the U21s in their penalty shoot-out win at Blackpool in the EFL Trophy in November.

Furnell-Gill shot to wider prominence last season when he was banned for three games by the Football Association following a series of incidents in the 4-3 defeat for the U18s at Manchester United in January 2024.

The defender was caught on camera involved in an ongoing spat with Manchester United forward Ethan Wheatley during the second half. The teenager was seen turning to aim a punch towards Wheatley and later clashed with the same player.

Furnell-Gil joined Liverpool from Preston North End at U15 level and made his U18s debut for the Reds as an U16 player in 2022/23, and was formerly a winger before being converted to centre-half at the Academy.
