Tottenham injury crisis deepens before Aston Villa after fresh blow to key man
Aston Villa welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon for the fourth round of the FA Cup - and the visitors are likely to be without forward Richarlison again after he was forced off in the first half of their EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash at Liverpool last night.
Spurs, leading 1-0 from the first leg, were well beaten 4-0 by the Reds, who are now off to Wembley to duel with Newcastle United in the final next month. To add salt to the wounds, they lost Brazilian Richarlison - back on Merseyside having previously played for Everton - to injury in the first half and immediately it was apparent he couldn't continue after treatment.
Richarlison has already missed huge portions of the season with a hamstring injury, making just nine appearances - and only two of them starts - in the Premier League this season, and he was visibly distraught following the latest setback, which manager Ange Postecoglou wasn't initially hopeful on.

"It looks like his calf," Postecoglou confirmed in his post-match press conference. "It didn't look too good after the game, so probably one to add to the list."
Spurs are already without the likes of Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero in defence, while they also lost Radu Dragusin to an ACL injury over the weekend in the win at Brentford. Elsewhere, Postecoglou was without Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert at Anfield.
They will, though, be able to field Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, additions made to the squad late in the transfer window, when they play Villa, who won't be permitted to field Axel Disasi, who they borrowed from Chelsea, because he has already represented his parent club in the FA Cup this term.
