Tottenham injury update: Heung-min Son, Lucas Bergvall and Richarlison latest news and return dates

Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways in Saturday’s early offering in the Premier League but Lucas Bergvall’s involvement is up in the air.

London rivals West Ham are the visitors to N17 as Spurs have the chance to quickly erase the memory of their second-half collapse against Brighton. Leading 2-0, they conceded three times in 18 minutes after the break to fall to their third league defeat of the campaign which ended a run of five straight wins across all competitions.

Due to the timing of the international break, Ange Postecoglou has had plenty of time to stew over that result, although he won’t have seen many of his senior players over the past fortnight.

And the Australian tactician's mood can’t have improved much upon hearing that Bergvall was forced to pull out of the Sweden squad for the Nations League win over Estonia due to an injury.

Here is all the latest Tottenham injury news and potential return dates as Postecoglou’s side face tough examinations in the coming weeks with games against West Ham, AZ Alkmaar and Crystal Palace as well as a Carabao Cup fourth-round showdown with Manchester City.

Lucas Bergvall

As confirmed in a statement released by the Swedish national team, Bergvall returned to Spurs earlier than expected to be assessed ahead of the game against West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"Lucas Bergvall has suffered a minor injury and will not be available for tonight's game against Estonia in the Nations League," the statement read. "Ahead of the match, it is clear that Bergvall will not be available for the game. He has left to manage his rehabilitation in a club environment."

Potential return date: Unknown, pending further assessment

Richarlison

The Brazilian has been absent since suffering a calf problem during a training session prior to Spurs’ Premier League clash away at Newcastle last month.

Postecoglou recently advised reporters to stop asking about Richarlison until he had another update to offer, revealing he was a “fair way off” a return having yet to resume training with the first team.

However, the 27-year-old has been shown back on the grass in the past week which indicates a return to full training might not be too far away.

This weekend's London derby will presumably come too soon, but he could be available in the weeks ahead to further boost Postecoglou's attacking options.

Potential return date: October

Heung-min Son

The Spurs captain has missed the last three games across all competitions after being forced off with a hamstring issue in the 3-0 Europa League win over Qarabag.

Son, as expected, was not selected by South Korea for their World Cup qualification double-header against Jordan and Iraq to help aid his recovery and that additional rest could boost the forward’s chances of being available against West Ham.

Potential return date: October 19, vs West Ham

Wilson Odobert

Spurs' summer signing was forced off early during the Carabao Cup third-round win over Coventry after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Frenchman was initially expected back at the end of October, but reports claim he could be involved in training this week and if all goes well may return to Spurs' matchday squad sooner than expected.
