Tottenham loan star receives glowing verdict as two new January transfer window decisions loom
Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has stated he is "so proud" of Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley. The 19-year-old headed to the League One side in August but his time in east London has been far from plain sailing since his switch across the capital.
Initially starting in the team before finding himself in and out of the starting XI, Donley went through a period in October and November where he failed to make the matchday squad in four of their five league fixtures. Since his appearance off the substitutes' bench in the 2-1 FA Cup second round win over Oldham Athletic - a game in which Tottenham teammate and goalkeeper Josh Keeley scored a late equaliser - Donley has featured in every game for Wellens' team.
Donley's place in the side has coincided with Orient winning five of their last six League One games to move up the table and close to within the play-off places. In his last three league fixtures, the Spurs starlet has registered two goals and two assists.

Donley also played an exquisite pass to Ollie O'Neill in their recent 3-0 win over Crawley Town that Charlie Kelman finished off from close range. Amid his previous struggles in east London, the exciting Tottenham talent is now a first-team regular and is having a huge role in Orient's attacking play.
Speaking to Leyton Orient's YouTube channel ahead of the New Year's Day game at Bristol Rovers, Wellens heaped praise on his player and commended him for coming through a difficult time to flourish in his side.
"Donley, I have to say, I take my hat off to him, I am so proud of him, the way he has come through the difficult time," explained the boss.
"I questioned him and I put it on him a little bit to show some resilience and he has come through that with flying colours. So, the fact that I can get him and [Ethan] Galbraith in the team, is a massive help for us."
Despite Donley now making his mark with the League One club, Spurs could still possibly face a decision over the attacking midfielder before the month is out. football.london understands there is interest in both Donley and goalkeeper Keeley from clubs up the football pyramid.
Both players are settled at Orient right now but Spurs will have to weigh up what is best for the duo's development in the second half of the season.
