Tottenham open Antonio Nusa talks amid Chelsea transfer interest

Tottenham have held talks with Club Brugge over a deal for winger Antonio Nusa.

The 18-year-old has been tipped for a big future and is also attracting interest from Chelsea, who had a £23million bid rejected on deadline day last summer.

Spurs have now joined the race for Nusa and Brugge are thought to want around £25m, plus a guarantee that he stays with them for the rest of the season.

Tottenham have structured deals in a similar way previously, loaning both Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr back to their respective clubs before they joined.

Ange Postecoglou wants to bolster his forward options and Spurs signed ex-Chelsea striker Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig earlier this month. Tottenham have the option to make the move permanent this summer for around £13m to £17m.

Nusa is only 18, but he has already been capped four times by Norway and played in the Champions League.

The winger scored on his first appearance in the competition last season, making him the youngest player to score on his Champions League debut.

Nusa usually plays off the left, cutting inside, but he can also operate on the right flank too if needed. He has scored four goals in 27 games for club and country this season.

Tottenham will face a fight to sign him because, as well as Chelsea, clubs from all over Europe have been scouting the winger.

Spurs have been the most proactive Premier League club during the current transfer window.

As well as Werner, the club also signed centre-back Radu Dragusin from Genoa as part of a deal that could eventually be worth around £26m.

Tottenham could bring in further reinforcements this month, with a new midfielder a possibility if the right opportunity arises.
