Tottenham reportedly could sign Dibling in January and loan back to Saints
TOTTENHAM Hotspur continue to be strongly linked with interest in Saints starlet Tyler Dibling and are among the favourites for a summer move.
Spurs reportedly could do a deal with Saints in the January window to ensure the 18 year old attacker makes North London his next destination.
The Telegraph have reported that Ange Postecoglou's side want to sign Dibling this month but will seek a pre-agreement if they are unable to do so.
They add that the two clubs have already held talks over the England youth international, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.
Dibling was expected to be out for at least four weeks but Saints manager Ivan Juric is hopeful of a speedy return following a positive prognosis.
"In this moment, we are a little bit more optimistic. We will see next week how we are proceeding. Everybody is optimistic," said the Croatian.
Spurs transfer insider Paul O'Keefe has claimed that Spurs could sign Dibling in January but immediately loan him back to St Mary's for the season.
Sky Sports last week reported that Southampton's price tag for Dibling was set at £55million - slightly more than Chelsea paid for Romeo Lavia in 2023.
Dibling is under contract at Saints until 2026 with an option to extend his contract by a further year, while they have also offered him improved terms.
Although relegation would make an exit likely, Saints boss Juric believes Dibling will remain at Saints for at least the rest of the season.
Juric said: "There are no assurances in football, we know that, but I am pretty sure that I will be coaching Dibling all this year."
Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle United - and German outfit RB Leipzig - have all been credited with interest in breakout star Dibling.
