Tottenham vs Burnley LIVE! Premier League result, match stream and latest updates today
Burnley were relegated from the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday left Vincent Kompany's side five points from the safety zone with one game remaining.
The result left 19th-placed Burnley with 25 points from 37 games, giving them no chance of moving out of the drop zone as they became the second team to go down after Sheffield United's relegation was confirmed last month.
Burnley took the lead in the 25th minute on a counter-attack which Jacob Bruun Larsen finished expertly, but Pedro Porro equalised just after the half-hour mark with a fierce strike following a solo run to equalise.
Burnley keeper Arijanet Muric made two crucial saves in the second half but he could do nothing to stop Micky van de Ven in the 82nd minute when the Dutch defender curled a shot into the bottom corner to consign the visitors to relegation.

Postecoglou confirms Richarlison is 'hobbling about' as Tottenham await scan result
18:46 , Jonathan Gorrie
Ange Postecoglou has revealed Richarlison is “hobbling about” with a calf injury, with Tottenham waiting for the full results of a scan.
The Brazilian striker had scored one goal and assisted another last weekend as Tottenham lost 4-2 to Liverpool at Anfield.
He then pulled up in the “last kick” of Friday’s training session, with the news of a calf injury breaking when Brazil manager Dorival Junior left him out of his Copa America squad and revealed injury to be the reason why.
Richarlison then missed Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Burnley on Saturday but was present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as players did a lap of honour in their penultimate home game of the season.
Van de Ven lives up to Tottenham award but issues remain for Postecoglou
17:19 , Jonathan Gorrie
Micky van de Ven was named Tottenham’s player of the season this week, and it is for moments like his winner against Burnley here.
No, Van de Ven was not signed to score late goals to relegate opponents and keep his own team’s faint Champions League hopes alive. But he has shown this season that there is more to his game than his extraordinary recovery pace.
Indeed, he looked like a seasoned striker as he turned what would have been an ugly 1-1 draw into a 2-1 win that Spurs deserved on the balance of play but which could so easily never have materialised.
Van de Ven took the ball in his stride, curled past Dara O’Shea off balance, and so there does remain a sliver of hope that Ange Postecoglou’s side can secure Champions League football for themselves next season, pipping Aston Villa into fourth place at the last.

Tottenham ratings: Van de Ven the saviour as Porro a constant threat
17:05 , Jonathan Gorrie
Tottenham’s hopes of Champions League football live on, just, after Micky van de Ven’s late winner earned them a 2-1 victory over Burnley, which relegated their visitors.
It was Burnley who took the lead when Jacob Bruun Larsen finished coolly in the first half, but Tottenham were back level at the break through Pedro Porro’s piledriver.
Tottenham dominated the second half and had their reward eight minutes from time when Van de Ven found himself in the box and tucked calmly into the corner.

As it stands, Spurs are sending Burnley down but a point would do precious little for their Champions League hopes.
HT: Tottenham 1-1 Burnley
15:49 , Jonathan Gorrie
The end of a first half in which Tottenham have seen more of the ball but not necessarily been much the better team. They are level courtesy of Porro’s equaliser, following a Burnley opener out of nowhere, finished expertly by Bruun Larsen. Burnley will be relegated if it stays like this. Spurs can’t afford for it to.

Dom Smith at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

That was a stunning goal from Porro, who we know can hit them and he certainly did that. Receives from Johnson, runs into empty turf, and cannons past Muric. Spurs deservedly back on level terms. Porro showing the attackers a thing or two about clinical finishing there.

Spurs respond quickly as Pedro Porro charges down the right flank in so much space before beating Muric at his near post!

That’s a poor goal to concede from Tottenham, much too passive all round. Berge was allowed to dart free of his markers, and then his ball through arrived at the feet of the unmarked Bruun Larsen. Skipp tried to catch up but Bruun Larsen finished well. Not in the script for Spurs but they’re behind to a Burnley side who are relegated if they don’t win here.

Spurs cut open as Jacob Bruun Larsen gets in behind Oliver Skipp to fire the Clarets in front!
Dom Smith at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Oliver Skipp is looking sharp as a makeshift left-back once again for Postecoglou’s side. Has beaten Bruun Larsen with a couple of nice runs down the flank and won a few smart fouls too. Injuries to Udogie and Davies a few weeks back felt like a nightmare for Spurs but Skipp has adapted well and proven a shrewd solution there.
Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

13 mins: After a pretty open start, the game has died down somewhat.
Dom Smith at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Huge chance for Spurs, and you have to say Johnson should have done better. Just took it a bit too calmly when more force was needed while Muric was out of his goal. Spurs the dominant side early on here.

Burnley so stretched there. Once Son had put Maddison through, it became clear quite how open the Clarets were. They survive through an impressive block but joy already for Tottenham

Gary Neville tells Tottenham why Ange Postecoglou must be backed:
13:47 , Jonathan Gorrie
Gary Neville believes Ange Postecoglou deserves to be backed by Tottenham after a promising first season in charge.
Postecoglou’s Spurs were the early-season leaders in the Premier League, but form has been less consistent since the turn of the year and they now sit fifth in the Premier League with Champions League qualification looking unlikely.
The Tottenham manager has been lauded throughout his first season for the braveness with which Spurs play and for his frankness when speaking to the media. However, criticism has come more recently as Tottenham have lost their last four matches.

Everton will attempt to fight off interest from Manchester United and Tottenham in Jarrad Branthwaite this summer.
The 21-year-old defender has been tipped to move to a bigger club after earning his maiden England call-up last month, albeit without making his senior debut.

13:03 , Jonathan Gorrie
Ange Postecoglou says he has not given up on a top-four finish with Tottenham but believes they are not yet "a Champions League club".
Spurs trail fourth-placed Aston Villa by seven points and have a worse goal difference, meaning they will likely have to win their remaining three games against Burnley, Manchester City and Sheffield United and hope Villa lose to both Liverpool and Crystal Palace to overhaul Unai Emery's side.
