Tottenham’s Europa League match against Qarabag has been delayed due to “severe travel disruption” in north London.

Kick-off was scheduled for 8pm at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the club announced that has been pushed back as supporters struggle to make it to the ground.

It has now been confirmed that it will be a delay of 35 minutes, with the match set to get underway at 8:35pm.

A statement from Tottenham confirmed the initial delay: “Kick off for tonight’s fixture has been delayed due to severe travel disruption.”

London Overground services from Cheshunt and Enfield Town to White Hart Lane were suspended ahead of the match, while there were also problems on the A10 in both directions.

While the Tottenham squad arrived at the ground earlier in the evening, the travel issues meant Qarabag did not make it to the stadium until around 7:45pm, having been given a police escort for the final mile of their journey.

However, that was still not enough to make it through the problems, and the squad had to abandon their coach and walk along Tottenham High Road.
