Tottenham woes go from bad to worse as key midfielder set to miss out v Newcastle
Tottenham will be without Rodrigo Bentancur when they host Newcastle United on January 4.
Bentancur opened the scoring in the 2-2 draw with Wolves on Sunday, with Brennan Johnson also finding the net.
But having picked up a booking after hacking down Rodrigo Gomes with just seconds remaining, his omission will provide another headache for Ange Postecoglou.

Defender Destiny Udogie picked up what looked to be a hamstring injury in the second half, with the Italian adding his name to Spurs' extensive injury list.
Cristian Romero, Micky Van De Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and Ben Davies are all currently sidelined with the Lilywhites squad becoming more and more stretched.
Just four days after Newcastle's visit, Tottenham host Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final showdown.
Another four days on, its an FA Cup trip to face National League side Tamworth before a North London derby with Arsenal follows soon after.
Postecoglou has expressed his frustration on the matter, with the hectic winter schedule continuing to ruin his chances of fielding a full-strength side.
"Well we had no choice, if Radu doesn't play, I don't know who plays," said the boss after the full-time whistle against Wolves. "There's no choice, but it's not a risk. I mean it's it's a judgment call, you know.
"It's not like it's a muscle injury, it's a knock on his ankle, but yeah, we're making decisions. We've got no choice unless I throw another 18 or 17-year-old out there, well, that's the only fit players we have at the moment."
