Ipswich Town are closing in on the loan signing of Brighton attacker Julio Enciso, the EADT and Ipswich Star understands.

As first reported by Paraguayan journalist Christian Pérez, the Blues could add the attacking midfielder to their ranks in time for Saturday's Premier League clash at Liverpool.

Enciso joined Brighton from Club Libertad in 2022 for a reported fee of £9.5m plus add-ons. During his time at the Amex Stadium, he's scored four goals in 24 games.

He has also scored two goals in 23 games for Paraguay.

The 20-year-old will become the Blues' third signing of the January transfer window, following on from defender Ben Godfrey (Atalanta, loan) and Jaden Philogene (Aston Villa, £20m).

Due to his age, Enisco won't count towards Ipswich's 25-man senior squad limit.

Ipswich will reach their two domestic loan limit, with Kalvin Phillips already on loan from Manchester City.

It will be the second January transfer window in a row that Ipswich have signed an attacking player on loan from Brighton, Jeremy Sarmiento having arrived to boost last season's Championship promotion push.
