The January transfer window is quickly coming to an end with all three of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham looking to do business before the window shuts.

It’s been a relatively quiet window for all three clubs so far, with just Tottenham adding goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to their first-team squad over the last month. But things could ramp up in the final few days of the window.

Arsenal are on the lookout for a new striker, with injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus impacting them. The club have seen a bid rejected for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, but reports suggest that they are going to try with an improved bid to try and test Villa’s resolve.

The Gunners have also been linked with an interest in Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel. The winger looks set to leave the German giants before the deadline, either on a loan or permanent deal, but Mikel Arteta’s side are not alone in their interest.

Chelsea are another team that are said to be keen to sign the forward, but reports suggest that he is not keen on a move to Stamford Bridge due to the competition for places. Enzo Maresca could therefore move on to other targets.

One of those is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with Chelsea for the last couple of weeks. While United are not pushing to sell the winger, they will also not stand in his way should the right offer arrive.

For Chelsea, eyes could also be on outgoings with a number of players linked with exits. Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Ben Chilwell are among those who could leave.

Tottenham are a third club said to be interested in a transfer for Tel before the end of the window. Ange Postecoglou has called for transfer activity in the final days of the window given the injury problems at the club.

Tottenham currently have 10 first-team players ruled out with injury with doubts over a couple more. It’s no surprise then that it’s expected to be busy for all three clubs over the next few days. Here is what you need to know about the transfer window closing.

When is deadline day?

Deadline day for the January transfer window is on Monday, 3 February, 2025. The transfer window closes at 11pm.

Can deals be done after that time?

Yes and no. Clubs will be able to submit a dealsheet before the 11pm deadline, which will give them extra time to complete deals in the works after the 11pm cut-off, but deals won’t be able to be completed if the dealsheet is not submitted.

If they have rooms in their Premier League squads, then clubs will also be able to complete the signings of any free agents after the deadline has passed.
