Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea hijack Arsenal in Kudus bid; Mbappe, Wahi latest; Osimhen to Man United boost

Transfer news LIVE!

The summer transfer window continues to ramp up once again with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all on the hunt for more huge deals as they continue preparations for the new season. Arsenal had looked set to move for Mohammed Kudus at Ajax, though it seems that Chelsea are now hijacking their switch for the Ghana international, just as they did with winger Mykhailo Mudryk back in January.

Chelsea are also said to have launched a very ambitious move to sign Kylian Mbappe, whose feud with Paris Saint-Germain is getting ugly, as they also near a deal for Elye Wahi at Montpellier. Manchester United are chasing a new striker after signing Andre Onana and have named their price for Rasmus Hojlund and also received a new boost in the race for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

There is another development in the Harry Kane to Bayern Munich saga, while Tottenham want defenders Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven. Jordan Henderson has completed a medical ahead of his controversial transfer to Al-Ettifaq as Liverpool line up Romeo Lavia and Manchester City are closing in on Josko Gvardiol. Palhinha forced off with shoulder injury

22:25 , Matt Verri

Joao Palhinha has suffered a painful-looking shoulder injury in Fulham’s first pre-season match against Brentford in the United States tonight.

The 28-year-old was substituted late in the first half after a collision on the edge of his box. The Fulham midfielder applauded fans behind the goal as he was taken off and replaced by Kevin Mbabu at the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium in Philadelphia.

Marco Silva will be concerned that his star midfielder and last year’s Player of the Year will be out for an extended period, with just three weeks to go until the start of the Premier League season.

Palhinha’s injury may also scupper any potential move this summer after West Ham had a £45million bid rejected for the Portugal international last week. The Cottagers are reluctant to sell their midfielder for less than £80m with four years still to run on the five-year contract he signed last summer.

Liverpool are also among the clubs interested in signing the midfielder.

Desire said: “He [Angelo] won’t be arriving straight away, as Chelsea want to integrate him into the club first. He’ll come in August after the tour of the United States. We want to bring more variety to Patrick Vieira.”

Wilfried Zaha agrees Galatasaray deal

Wilfried Zaha is heading to Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants took the unusual step this afternoon of officially announcing that they are in negotiations to sign the former Crystal Palace talisman, who is a free agent after his contract at Selhurst Park expired last month.

Crystal Palace had been confident of re-signing Zaha, having tabled a new contract offer worth £200,000 a week amid other interest from the likes of Galatasaray’s biggest rivals Fenerbahce plus Lazio and Saudi club Al-Nassr.

However, Fabrizio Romano says that the Ivory Coast international is set to sign a three-year contract at Galatasaray, with a medical booked and agreement reached.

Pochettino confirms Chelsea’s Levi Colwill decision

11:06 , George Flood

Levi Colwill is set to remain at Chelsea this summer.

The England Under-21 defender had been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge after a fine season on loan at Brighton, who want him back on a permanent basis.

However, Chelsea have high hopes for Colwill, who has an even more important role to play now with both Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile sidelined.

Mauricio Pochettino has now confirmed that the 20-year-old academy graduate will remain at the club, tipping him to become one of the best in the country at his position.

“He is going to continue with us,” Pochettino said after last night’s seven-goal pre-season friendly thriller against Brighton in Philadelphia.

“I am happy with him, his performance was good today, better than what I expected because it is only the first game with us after the season with Brighton. I am so happy, he can be one of the greatest centre-backs in England.”

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are in talks with Southampton over signing Romeo Lavia, but don’t want to meet his current £50m asking price.

Maddison shared footage earlier this week of him playing golf with his England captain Kane, though it remains to be seen how long the pair are team-mates at Tottenham.

Kane, who has entered the final 12 months of his current contract, continues to be linked with a move away this summer, with Bayern Munich making their desire to bring the striker to Germany very clear.

“I’m not going to go into details on Harry’s situation,” Maddison said when asked about his desire for Kane to stay at Spurs.

“People speak about that enough and it’s out of my hands really, but from my point of view I would love to be able to play with him. He’s a world class centre forward, the best number nine in the world, a brilliant role model and an uber professional guy. Whatever happens happens.”

Quizzed on whether he could be the club’s new No10 if Kane leaves, Maddison replied: “I just mentioned Harry and don’t really want to talk on that. Not sure what I should and shouldn’t say in response to that question.”

The Arsenal boss said: “At the moment he is recovering from an injury which is why he’s not here.

“He had a spell on loan and obviously we wanted to get much more than we got from that loan spell. We have to see when we come back, understand what the plans are and make the right decision for him.”
