Trent Alexander-Arnold fires five-word Liverpool warning to PSG as Darwin Nunez sends message
Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a bold message to Paris Saint-Germain following the Reds' narrow victory in their first-leg encounter in the Champions League last 16. The 26-year-old right-back was pivotal as Liverpool secured a vital 1-0 advantage, contributing to their clean sheet against the star-studded French outfit.
The Reds are set for a showdown with PSG at Anfield on Tuesday, with their home turf known for its electric European nights. Fresh from their win at the Parc des Princes, Alexander-Arnold took to Instagram to celebrate the triumph with an image of himself embracing match-winner Harvey Elliott. Alexander-Arnold's popular post, swiftly amassing over 150,000 likes, was aptly tagged: "Advantage. See you at Anfield."
The comments lit up with support, including from Adebayo Akinfenwa, while Elliott coined Alexander-Arnold 'the greatest of all time', indicated by the goat emoji. Teammates Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson were among the fans showing love with a like.

Not to be left out, Darwin Nunez expressed his feelings on Instagram as well. The 25-year-old forward, who has been under the microscope this season, capped the night with his own celebratory post exclaiming: "Difficult match, important win, but the job is not done yet. 90 more minutes at home to fight for it. Let's go @liverpoolfc!"
Liverpool's manager was full of praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold when speaking to the press post-match, highlighting that despite some tough games, such as the one against City, the right-back's overall performance often goes beyond what statistics can show.
"I see the same thing during the season many more times," he said. "There have been games I think City away was one of them where he was outplayed a few times but we didn't concede that many big chances against City, so sometimes stats are not telling you the truth."
He continued to defend Alexander-Arnold's capabilities, pointing out the deceptive nature of certain stats and praising his defensive work, particularly in the second half. "If he goes past someone in the width of the pitch, it doesn't tell you that he's outplayed.
"The stats that do matter, I just already said a few times, are clear that Paris Saint-Germain are this season incredible in Europe and in their league. Trent, in the first half, one or two times had some difficulties but in general he defended really well, especially also in the second half."
The Reds boss also commended Elliott and Nunez for their roles in securing the win, with special mention of the staff's efforts in keeping Elliott fit and Nunez's impactful presence on the pitch. "I have to give him (Elliott) big compliments for that and also my staff because they keep working with him and every time come up with great exercises so he stays fit," he added.
"But it wasn't only Harvey, it was also the one who assisted, Darwin Nunez, who came from a difficult two games but was absolutely there again tonight because from the moment he came in we were more of a threat than before."
Liverpool.com says: Having somehow won against PSG midweek, Liverpool is in pole position to make the quarter-finals. There is still work to be done for the Reds but it was a massive result. Alexander-Arnold did pretty well defensively, though that, of course, won't be highlighted as much as when he struggles.
