Liverpool suffered a fresh injury blow at Bournemouth on Saturday. Trent Alexander-Arnold was taken off midway through the second half with an apparent thigh issue.

It is currently unclear how the right-back picked up the problem, although he slumped to the playing surface during the match at the Vitality Stadium and could be seen grasping at his upper leg in discomfort.

Arne Slot replaced the England international with Conor Bradley with Liverpool 1-0 up after a Mohamed Salah penalty. The Egyptian would add another 15 minutes from time to make the game safe for the visitors.

Any issue for Alexander-Arnold would potentially be a big blow for Liverpool. The England international has started to find his rhythm again in recent weeks after returning from a hamstring issue that saw him miss most of November.

The Liverpool vice-captain has been subject to strong transfer interest from Real Madrid this month, with the Reds rejecting a transfer offer. Alexander-Arnold's contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season.
