Three former Reading regulars, all of whom left the club last January, have found new temporary homes for the remainder of the season.

Closing on the slightly later date of February 3, the winter window slammed shut last night as the Royals brought in forward Billy Bodin and will lose Tyler Bindon to Nottingham Forest in the summer.

However, there were also plenty of familiar faces on the move elsewhere in the EFL for Reading supporters.

Last January, supporters reached boiling point as a firesale of players saw Tom McIntyre join Portsmouth, Tom Holmes join Luton Town and Caylan Vickers join Brighton and Hove Albion.

Fast-forward 12 months and all three have moved on to pastures new.

26-year-old McIntyre, who made 13 appearances for Pompey in the first half of the season, has joined League One play-off chasers Charlton Athletic.

Holmes, who was a regular at Kenilworth Road under Rob Edwards but failed to get a chance under Matt Bloomfield, has moved to Belgian top-flight side FCV Dender.

Meanwhile, youngster Vickers has returned to League One with Mansfield Town as he awaits a debut for the Premier League Seagulls.

This follows on from Nelson Abbey's switch to Rio Ave, another of last January's Royal exits.
