Sky Sports have been cleared by Ofcom after complaints about sectarian singing from Rangers fans during a match they broadcasted live.

The television watchdog was asked to review coverage of the Ibrox club's visit to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership at the beginning of last month.

Despite their poor away record this season, Philippe Clement's men ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the Highlands thanks to goals from Hamza Igamane, Danilo, and captain James Tavernier.

Post-match, four separate complaints were made to Ofcom regarding sectarian singing from certain sections of the travelling support.

The watchdog, however, has since ruled that the footage didn't require an official investigation, per the Broadcasting Code.

The words of the specific chants were not 'particularly discernible’ to viewers in the eyes of Ofcom, who didn't take the matter any further.

The news comes as Rangers host Aberdeen at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this evening, live on Sky Sports.

Clement's men could close the gap at the top of the table to 13 points with a victory after city rivals Celtic salvaged a 3-3 draw against Dundee at Dens Park on Tuesday night.

The Belgian manager will be keen to continue his side's imperious home form as the Dons travel to Glasgow, with Rangers yet to lose in their own backyard domestically this season.
