SALIS ABDUL SAMED will make his first Sunderland start in this afternoon's home game with Plymouth Argyle.

Samed has made two substitute appearances since joining the Black Cats on loan from Lens in the summer.

The midfielder now gets the chance to start for the first time as one of two changes from the team that kicked off the midweek win over Derby County.

Patrick Roberts also returns to Sunderland's starting side, having been on the bench for the win at Pride Park.

Chris Rigg and Eliezer Mayenda drop out of the Black Cats' starting line-up, with both players on the bench this afternoon.

The changes mean Le Bris will switch away from the 4-4-2 system he fielded against Derby, reverting to the 4-2-3-1 formation he was using earlier in the season.

SUNDERLAND (4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, Mepham, O'Nien, Cirkin; Neil, Samed; Roberts, Bellingham, Le Fee; Isidor.

Subs: Moore, Ballard, Rigg, Mayenda, Aouchiche, Aleksic, Hjelde, Poveda, Jones.

PLYMOUTH (4-2-3-1): Hazard; Mumba, Pleguezuelo, Palsson, Puchasz; Randell, Houghton; Sorinola, Wright, Bundu; Hardie.

Subs: Grimshaw, Ogbeta, Gyabi, Al Hajj, Roberts, Baidoo, Tijani, Cissoko, Issaka.
