Two Liverpool players could leave in January transfer window as Arne Slot faces big call
Liverpool is setting the standard this season, leading the Premier League title race, topping the Champions League table and remaining in contention for both domestic cups.
Arne Slot's team has exceeded all expectations, suffering just two defeats in 31 matches so far. With just 12 days left of the January transfer window, fans are debating whether Liverpool's squad needs reinforcements.
Yet Slot remains confident in the team's depth, citing the high quality of substitutes available. The injury situation also looks more favorable compared to last year, with Joe Gomez (hamstring) the only player currently sidelined. However two players could still depart Anfield.

The Athletic recently analyzed the Reds squad depth and stated that Slot has a big call to make regarding the futures of Tyler Morton and James McConnell.
The pair have have been deployed in deeper midfield roles but are yet to feature in the Premier League this season. They are potential candidates to leave Anfield this month.
Morton recently described it as “decision time” for his future following the FA Cup victory against Accrington Stanley, while preliminary talks about a loan move for McConnell were held before the transfer window opened.
If the Reds continue to compete in all competitions the squad depth will be crucial to success this season. Should Liverpool allow Morton and McConnell to leave without any incoming transfers, the defensive midfield role will be depleted to Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch is favoured in the role with Endo being used when needed. Liverpool’s summer interest in Martin Zubimendi highlighted that midfield could be strengthened.
Concerns would grow if the Dutchman were to face an extended injury absence. However, Slot has other options for the role, including Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, and Dominik Szoboszlai, who could all step in if needed
